From the moment you step aboard Sunny Cyprus, you’ll know this isn’t just a day on a boat, it’s a day spent with people who genuinely love what they do and are looking forward to sharing a wonderful day sailing yacht charters with you.
We are brothers Alex and Steph, and our close friend George, and typically two of us are onboard every charter. Between us, we’ve been sailing this coastline for years. We know every bay, every headland, every little change in the wind. But more than that, we know how to make people feel welcome. That part matters most.
Sunny Cyprus is a 37-foot (11m) sailing yacht with everything you need for an incredible day at sea: perfect for lounging, a shaded cockpit for shared meals, and comfortable cabins below if you feel like sneaking in a quiet moment. Every inch of her has hosted laughter, lazy swims, and stories we’re still telling years later.
So, here’s how a typical day unfolds with us; not staged, not scripted. Just honest, unhurried, and doing things well, with care, and the kind of relaxed energy that turns strangers into sailing companions by the first snack attack.
Yacht Charters Prep (And Arguing About How Many Pastries Is Enough)
We’re at the harbour long before your yacht charter begins. It’s not just about wiping down decks or checking systems, though yes, we do all of that. It’s also about the ritual: setting the cushions, stocking the fridge, chilling cold beer and wine, water and juices (making sure we have lemons and limes for G&T aficionados), preparing the local snacks, pastries, fresh fruit and cheeses just how we like it. Someone, usually George, always insists we need just one more type of cheese.
If you’ve requested a bigger lunch in advance, we’ve made sure everything’s arrived piping hot in insulated boxes, ready to serve later in the day. We don’t usually cook at sea as we prefer to spend that time sailing, anchoring, and making your day memorable.

Welcome to your Yacht Charter
When you arrive, we’ll meet you with a big smile and warm handshakes. We’ll help you stow your things and offer a cold drink before anything else. It’s not a routine; it’s just the kind of welcome we’d want ourselves. The vibe is relaxed. Shoes off (if you like), sunglasses on, and a quick walkthrough of the boat so everyone knows where to find the bathroom, the fridge, and us.
Before we leave the harbour, we point out the safety details clearly, calmly, and without turning it into a lecture. We’ll discuss your route options, and make sure everyone’s comfortable, whether you’re eager to learn the ropes or just want to lounge and let the wind do the work. We want you to feel confident, relaxed, and fully at home. Whether you’ve sailed before or are completely new to it, knowing you’re in good hands.
Heading West
With the wind usually coming from the west or southwest, we often motor westward along the coastline to start the day, hugging the Akamas and reaching our favourite swimming and snorkelling spots in good time. If you prefer and there’s wind in the sails, we’ll cut the engine and let Sunny Cyprus do her thing, steady, quiet, and proud.
There’s no set script.
Swim Stops, Sun, and Slow Moments
We can stop and anchor as many times as you wish, we’re not avid clock-watchers and we’re delighted to keep things flexible. Sometimes we anchor at Aphrodite’s Bay which is usually very peaceful, and there is always the Blue Lagoon where the water is just amazing and it’s a much livelier experience with plenty of self-drive and coastal cruising boats. Wherever we are, it’s clean water, easy ladder access, and plenty of time to swim, snorkel, or just bob around like a seal.
There’s no pressure, no announcements. Just time to enjoy yourself, however that looks for you.
Later, if the breeze plays along, we hoist the sails and enjoy a long, smooth return trip to the harbour under canvas. That’s one of the best feelings on board; the quiet shift when the engine cuts and it’s just us, the wind, and Sunny Cyprus doing what she does best.
Yacht Charters Food: Local, Generous, and Always There
Snacks and light bites are served steadily throughout the day. We don’t do rigid meal slots. If you’re hungry, there’s something ready. If we’re busy trimming sails or anchoring and you fancy another drink or snack, feel free to help yourself.
When we’ve arranged a full lunch in advance, it’s served (usually as a buffet) when everyone’s ready, no fanfare, just good, warm food, fresh bread, and enough for seconds. We’re often told, “We didn’t expect the food to be this good.” Honestly? That’s one of our favourite compliments.
The Return Sail
By mid-afternoon, things naturally slow down. The sun shifts, the boat eases into a gentle rhythm, and conversations get a little softer – or sometimes stop altogether, replaced by the sound of the water.
If there’s time and people feel like it, we’ll stop for another swim. If not, we just keep sailing. The breeze on the side or slightly behind us, the coastline slipping past on your right-hand side, and a cold drink or snack always within reach; it’s a good way to round out the day.
Back in Latchi
The return into harbour is always relaxed. No rush. No loud music or dramatic goodbyes. Just a few quiet smiles, salty skin, and the shared sense that the day flew by faster than any of us expected.
